2026 PARIS RETROMOBILE
Retromobile welcomed more than 180.000 visitors, a record number, confirming its status as the world's leading exhibition dedicated to classic cars. In recognition of its major role in preserving and promoting automotive heritage, the FIA Founding Members Club also awarded Retromobile a highly symbolic prize: the ‘FIA Heritage Cup 2025’. Committed to the preservation, education and transmission of an exceptional technical and cultural heritage, the show brought together collectors, institutions, craftsmen, experts and enthusiasts in an atmosphere marked by emotion and conviviality.
The flagship exhibitions of this edition were a great success. The Bugatti railcar from La Cité du Train - SNCF heritage, a unique piece and a true treasure of French industrial heritage. The BMW Art Car World Tour exhibition, bringing together for the first time in France the seven Art Cars from the 24 Hours of Le Mans, generated considerable enthusiasm by offering a unique mix of contemporary art and motor racing.
As usual, the show is overflowing with automotive history treasures, so much so that it's hard to know where to look first. To name but a few, this year's show featured four McLaren F1s, numerous Ferraris that have won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Aston Martin DB4 Zagatos, 300SLR type W196 S cars and the 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B, winner of the Peninsula Classics Best of the Best Award. Its original owner, famous Italian racecar driver Giuseppe "Nino" Farina who would become the first official Formula One World Champion in 1950, commissioned a custom body that reflected his family’s deep roots in Italian automotive design. The result was the only 8C 2900B ever fitted with Stabilimenti Farina coachwork, which was founded by Nino’s father in 1906. Furthermore, the vehicle features styling contributions from Nino’s uncle, Battista “Pinin” Farina, one of Italy’s most celebrated automotive designers. Launched in 2015, The Peninsula Classics Best of the Best Award celebrates the preservation and restoration of the world’s finest automobiles. And to top it all, Alfa Romeo itslef was officially present with a stylish stand bringing cars from Museo Storico and Scuderia del Portello next to the facelifted Tonale.
If we tried to mention and tell the story that each car on display at the show has to tell us, I would never get to the end, but it’s safe to say it's definitely one of the best events to start the year with, bringing a splash of colour to this cold and grey winter.
